With the depressed local economy, the future doesn’t always appear rosy. To counteract that, McCarty Gardens on Thursday will provide flower arrangements free of charge with the idea that the person picking up an arrangement will give it to someone who could use some cheering up.This event will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday while supplies last, McCarty said.
If desired, the person picking up an arrangement can receive, as an added bonus, a 10 percent off coupon for a future purchase at the store by bringing in a canned or non-perishable food item. The donated food items will be taken to Your Father’s Kitchen in Wilmington.
Donations of food items will be accepted through Sept. 9, which is Good Neighbor Day, with the coupons being given for any additional donated items during this time.
***McCarty Gardens is located at 10623 U.S. Route 22/State Route 3 just as one enters Sabina when traveling from Wilmington.
